How do I find an order?

Here are some easy steps to help you look for an order:

Finding Orders via the Dockets Tab

1. Start by entering in the keywords for your search in the Smart Search bar.

2. Click on the Dockets Tab.

3. Click on a Docket you are interested in.

4. Scroll down to the Case Events section.

5. Use the search bar found on top of the Case Events section.

6. In the search bar, type in keywords such as: order, ruling, or the name of the motion you are looking for an order on.

7. If there are documents available for this case, you will see a green button next to the order you are looking for. There will either be a: 1) View Document; 2) Get Document; or a 3) View Tentative Ruling button.

Finding Orders via the Rulings Tab

A tentative ruling states how the Judge intends to rule on a motion.

1. Start by entering in the keywords for your search in the Smart Search bar.

2. Click on the Rulings Tab.

3. Look through the results to find a ruling that suits your research needs.

Finding Orders via the Documents Tab

1. Start by entering in the keywords for your search in the Smart Search bar.

Include search terms such as, ‘order‘ or ‘ruling,’ to pull documents matching the criteria. Ex. “Motion to compel” AND arbitration AND order.

2. Click on the Documents Tab.

3. Look through the documents to find an order that suits your research needs.
